Seeking information and photos for the family of John COKER, b. 1824, St. Landry Parish, LA. (His father's name was possibly also John COKER.) John was living in Rapides parish during the 1850 and 1860 Census. John was married twice, his first wife being Mary ?, b. 1832, LA, and d. between October 1859 and June 1860. John and Mary's children: Sarah, b. 1850, LA; Jane, b. Jan. 1849/50, LA; Sidney W. (F), b. 1856; and William Bryant COKER, b. 29 Oct., 1859, Rapides psh., LA, and d. 29 Aug., 1928, LA. Marr. Sarah Jane SMITH, 22 Jan., 1885, St. Landry psh., LA. John's second wife was Rosaline SNODDY, b. 22 Oct., 1834, LA, and d. 27 June, 1911, LA. I know of only one child born to John and Rosaline: Synthia COKER, b. 17 Apr., 1861, Avoyelles psh., LA, and d. 27 Feb., 1944, Oakdale (rural), Allen psh., LA. Marr. Duriman "Dew" BUXTON, 25 Aug., 1885, Rapides parish, LA. Dew and Synthia (COKER) BUXTON are my 2nd great-grandparents.

I am seeking info on my great-grandfather John CHEEK. He was married first to Elizebeth WRIGHT Cheek and they had 3 children, Sam Cheek, William Pinkston Cheek,my grandfather,born 1888 died 1954, and Molly Cheek. John Cheek married again, wife unknown to me, and they had 7 children, Charlie, Lawrence, Alton Arthur, Theodore, Emma, Stella and Rhoda. Any information would be appreciated.

I am looking for info  on John Womack MOSELEY b 25 Dec 1818 in Washington Co AL.  Moved to Winn Pa La in 1860.  He was married to Caroline T HOWELL.  They had 5 children when they moved to LA, Arthur T, James L, William M, Joseph T and Jackson W.  He is in the 1860 census for Winn Pa.  In 1870 had a new wife, Martha A TISON (TYSON).  In 1880 he had moved to Rapides Pa.  They had 8 more children.  Mary Elizabeth, Martha R, Leroy L, Robert N, Edwin, George, Wyatt and McErney.  He is buried in Mt Olivet Chapel Cemetery in Rapides Pa.  I would appr any info on John, Caroline, Martha and the children.  Thanks   SBufford@aol.com

William Bryan HYMAN (1814-1884) married H. Dolores GONZALES (1833-1912) at (probably) Rapides Parish in 1847. My HYMAN was a State judge in Rapides Parish during and after the Civil War. Their daughters were: Ann Bryan HYMAN (1852-1882) and Dorothy Elizabeth HYMAN (1860-1895) who both married Andrew DAVID...... Ann in 1866; Dorothy in 1883. Any infomation is helpful. Thanks.

Francois POUSSIN, b. 1798 France d. 1865 Pineville, LA was married to "Clara"  TRONCHIN, b. 1822 France d. 1899 Pineville, LA. Their daughter, Marie C. POUSSIN, b. 1855 d. 1925 Pineville married John Edward DAVID in 1873 at Pineville, LA. Francois POUSSIN was a merchant in Pineville and was a partner of John DAVID, father of John Edward DAVID. Any info on these families is appreciated.

I am looking for information on my maternal grandmother and grandfather's families. My grandmother's family name was GRANTADAMS and my grandfather's family name was LACHNEY. Please contact me if you have any information concerning these family names. We have a few baptism records but they are so old we can't read them well and some are in French. HOOPER -- I am looking for info on the wife of Augustus HOOPER b. 1810 Amite Co., MS.  His Thomas HOOPER, moved the family to Rapides by 1830.  I believe that Augustus must have married Filliby in Rapides between 1830 and 1835 and they moved to Avoyelles Parish.  Would anybody happen to know her maiden name?

Need information LILLEY family of Springhill area Ward 4 during the 1880 us census. The two youngest children of the family were placed in the foster home of John and Florence NEWCOMER in 1900. I have found no information on the death of their parents Miles O. and S.E. LILLEY.

I am looking for information on the family of Pleasant MULLICAN (b. ca 1818) and his wife Nancy (DAVIS?). They had children Thomas Levi, Adaline, Laura, and Mary. They moved to Louisiana from Mississippi and were living in Rapides Parish in 1858 according to land records.
