I am looking for any information on the WALDING / HAWORTH family. To my knowledge, the info I do have is pretty accurate. Edgar Richard HAWORTH (1881-1958) was married to Ezella Lenore WALDING (1895-1990). May have lived in Pineville, LA. at some time. He owned a plantation, "Hardscrabble". They had approx. 5 children. Any info at all is appriciated.

I am researching the HUDSON family of Rapides Parish. My 2nd great-grandfather William HUDSON was born in Alexandria about 1835 and later migrated to Natchez and othe parts of Mississippi. His father was Alfred HUDSON. I would appreciate any information about Hudsons in Rapides Parish before 1850.

Looking for any CURRY family...especially Issiah CURRY or Samuel CURRY,,,about the 1850s ..either in Rapieds. Grant or WInn Parishes.....it is believed that they lived on the Lodi Plantation or possible owners at that time.

I have a certified copy of a Baptismal Certificate for Francis Joseph RATEAU, child of F. J. RATEAU and Hene Monroe born on Nov 11, 1913 and baptized on Dec 7, 1913, according to the rites of the Roman Catholic Church by the Rev. C. Mahe, the Sponsors being A. L. Souliee and Mrs. Marie Monroe. Fr. RATEAU was stationed in Lake Providence, La. at one time and left some boxes of belongings here. I would love to see these items reunited with his family. Other items include a child's photo in what appears to be a christening gown with cap and other items. Please contact me personally at lbrock@bayou.com if you are related to Fr. RATEAU.

I am seeking information on Jack Thomas MITCHELL died in 1938 was married to Laura CARPENTER of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana. Jack was in Forest Hill, Rapides Parish. He was buried in Forest Hill, his family was there, and some living relatives are still there.

Looking for information on George W. PEAVY who married Frances Elizabeth HOGAN (HAGIN). He was killed at Vicksburg, Miss. during the Civil War. They were in Rapidies during the 1860's. Their daughter Georgia Ann Virginia Alice Melvina PEAVY married William Martin BARTON.

Searching for any information on a William Sidney SLAY that died in 1881 in Rapides Parish. He was born 17 March 1808 in Chesterfield Co., SC. His parents were Nathan Slay and Martha Ann SUMRALL. William's second wife was Laura Ann HARGRAVE.(b. 1844 MS) They married about 1858 (yes she really was 14 and he was 50!) in Jasper Co, MS. His first wife's name was Honor FUTCH (b. 1814 GA). They had seven children and I have information on those available if anyone is interested. Children of William SLAY & Laura HARGRAVE: James Buchanan Slay b. 1859 Jasper Co, MS
Althea May Slay b. 1862 Jasper Co, MS
Richmond Oliver Slay b. 9 Oct. 1865 Pike Co, MS

I am also attempting to locate where he might be buried in the parish, as well as his wife. There are several Slay's buried in Holloway Methodist/Slay Cemetery (his son Richmond Oliver & wife Lillie) are buried there as well as other related Slay's in various parish cemeteries. Anyone searching this family, please contact me. He is my gg grandfather. A very interesting family but am at a brickwall on his final resting place.

I am searching for info on my g-grandmother Lula WHITSTINE Iles. She was born 8/9/1894 and died 10/1976. She was raised by her grandmother who was a WILLIAMS, I believe and in the area of Glenmore and Hineston. Her mother died 6-8wks after giving birth to her. Her father's name I don't know only he went by "Whit". Anyone knowing his name or her mothers name please e-mail me. She had a half brother named Jim WHITSTINE.
