ERWIN, STEWART posted by Bill Hyden on Sunday, June 10, 2001

I'm trying to get a line on Emily STEWART who married John Thomas ERWIN on 11 SEP 1889 in Alexandria, Rapides Parish, LA. He was b. 27 JAN 1863 in Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA . They lived in Fordyce, Dallas Co. and Crossett, Ashley Co., both in ARK, and had 7 children, including my maternal grandfather, George Dewey Erwin. John Thomas Erwin worked in Crossett, AR as the superintendent of the sawmill plant at Crossett Lumber Co. Emily predeceased him, almost certainly before 1910. He died accidentally in an auto-train collision about 1918. I believe Emily STEWART was from Louisiana, and I have been told that she had a sister who married a man named Calhoun, whose son, Roy Calhoun, also came to work for Crossett Lumber Co.
