I am looking for information about Robt and Jesse MUNSON, who arrived in Rapides in 1799-1800. I also would appreciate anything documental on Micaijah B. MUNSON who is said to have been a constable. He is a son of Jesse MUNSON. Micaijah married Elizabeth EVERETT. They had two daughters, Ann Eliza and Martha Caroline MUNSON.

I am trying to locate burial place of RHAME, Sr, Ransom Hope and spouse RHAME, Susannah B. MOSLEY. He was born on Jan. 29, 1810 and died Nov. 5, 1863. She was born Apr. 25, 1821 and died Aug. 20, 1885. They are supposedly buried in or near Melder in Rapides Parish. They are my great-great grandparents. They are also mentioned in Natchitoches Genealogist, Vol. 5, Issue 1, Oct., 1980, but I have not seen the article.

WILLIS was born 10 FEB 1869. She died 31 MAR 1941. 3) Minnie R. WILLIS was born 7 MAY 1870. She died 18 SEP 1921. 4) David Eugene WILLIS was born 19 JAN 1872. He died 13 FEB 1880 of appendicitis. 5) Corine WILLIS was born 27 SEP 1873. She died 6 OCT 1873 as a small baby. 6) Dr. Daniel Oscar WILLIS was born 8 MAR 1875. Married Anna SLAUGHTER (b. May 29, 1820 d. March 24, 1876) on March 15, 1838 Both are buried at Amiable Baptist Church Cemetery near Glenmora, Louisiana There children were: Daniel H. WILLIS, Jr. born 1839, Eliza WILLIS born circa 1842, Mary Jane WILLIS born circa 1845, David WILLIS born circa 1846, Martha WILLIS born circa 1847, Matthew WILLIS born circa 1848, Dempsey WILLIS born 1853, Calvin WILLIS born circa 1855, and Robert WILLIS born in 1858. Rev. Joseph WILLIS' grandson Daniel Hubbard WILLIS, Sr., was the first of his many descendants to follow Joseph into the ministry. Daniel was called by W.E. PAXTON's in A History of the Baptist of Louisiana, from the Earliest Times to the Present (1888) ".one of the most respected ministers in the Louisiana Association." He established many churches himself and was blind in his later years. His daughter would read the scriptures and he would preach. He was pastor of Amiable and Spring Hill Baptist Churches for many years. He was my great-great- grandfather. He settled on Spring Creek near Glenmora at a community called Babb's Bridge.

Searching for information on: Robert GRAHAM of Forest Hill (Rapides Parish), LA. randy@randywillis.org (Four of his daughters married four of Rev. Daniel H. WILLIS, Sr.'s sons) Robert GRAHAM: b. August 20, 1818; d. February 10, 1890 Married Ruth Smith (b. December 5, 1813 d. June 2, 1869) Both are buried at the Graham Cemetery - Forest Hill, Louisiana. Ruth had told Robert that wished to be buried at the top of a hill on their land near Forest Hill, La. She was and that hill is known today as the Graham Cemetery. Four of their daughters married four of Rev. Daniel H. WILLIS, Sr's sons: Julia Ann GRAHAM married Daniel H. WILLIS, Jr., Demerius GRAHAM married Calvin WILLIS, Annie GRAHAM married Robert WILLIS and Maggie GRAHAM married Dempsey WILLIS. Additional daughters of Robert and Ruth were: Elizabeth GRAHAM who married Joel MERCHANT, Katherine GRAHAM who married a SERMONS, Emily GRAHAM who married William BUTTER, Ruth GRAHAM who married James MOORE. I am looking for the cemetery location for Henry PLOCH (also listed as Block and Plock) who was killed May 5, 1864, "on Bayou Rapid" while serving with the 49th Indiana Volunteer Infantry. The National Cemeteries at Alexandria, Port Hudson, Baton Rouge and Chalmette and have no record of him.

Nannie EDWARDS WAITS listed her birthplace as Louisiana in the 1910 census of San Antonio, TX. We were almost sure that her birthplace was in Rapides Parish. I have found a great many Edwards people in the Flatwoods cemetery and wonder if any of them were relatives of hers. She married my grandfather, James Moreland Waits, supposedly in Oklahoma about 1892. Nannie was born about 1872. We suspect that her father was named Ethan but can't be sure. We would like to hear from anyone who has information on her family.

Looking for any information on my Greatgrandfather George L. BIRD. It is said he moved to Lena about 1905-1910 from Baton Rouge with daughter Georgie and Granddaughter's Hazel and Sadie. He is said to have had a small butcher shop in Lena. The girls moved on to Marshell, Tx. about 1915, but no info on what become of George.
