African American/European heritage, some described as mulatto. MAPLES from KY before 1870. MAPLES also in Tensas Parish. Charles MAPLES married Elizabeth BIAS (BYAS), children Martha and Ada.Martha married Edward Conner GRAHAM (6th child of Daniel M. and Clara KELSO-GRAHAM of Alexandria) abt. 1900. A daughter Elizabeth GRAHAM,maybe one son called "Bud". GRAHAMS moved to Missoula, Mineral County MT. Elizabeth (Lizzie) GRAHAM married Lawrence FORD in 1918, Monroe, LA. The couple had 6 children, Edna, Velma, Lawrence Samuel Henry Augustus, Edward Conner Mckinley, Janus, and Mildred. All born in Monroe, eventually moved to MI, and Northern CA. There is a definite Alexandria, Rapides Parish connection for all of the oldest generation of individuals mentioned. Starting with Daniel M. GRAHAM Clara KELSO in 1860, and the MAPLES and BIAS' in 1860.

Looking for information concerning a Mr. BRISTER, who married Matilda "Mattie: HENDRICK, b. abt 1895. BRISTER may have worked for the Alexandria City Water Works in the 1920s or 1930s. I can't find this family in any census, but I believe their children were: Margie, Billie, and Beverly June.

I am looking for any information on Robert MAIER he may have lived with his son, Wesley Maier around Gardner, La. Robert Maier may have died around 1944,may not have headstone. Wesley [ Maier ] MEYERS wife Mary are buried at Calvery Baptist Church, Gardner, La.would like to know date wesley died he has no date on headstone. I am interested in corresponding with anyone who might have information on Elias Heron HOLLAND, b. 13 Jul 1843 in Choctaw CO. MS. His father was Jacob H. HOLLAND and his grandfather was Charles HOLLAND, the Rev. War soldier.He was in Vernon Parish, La in 1880 census and in Rapides Parish, Boyce Precenct, Ward 1 Cotile in 1900 census. His daughter Minnie Inez HOLLAND married my grandfather John Jackson LUTTRELL b.27 Sep 1879 at Leander, Vernon Parish. I have been unable to find Elias after 1900 census but know he received pension. I believe he died in Rapides Parish between 1910 & 1920 as I have a copy of his pension papers. Elias m. Mattie M. STRICKLAND, unk loction. Would also like any info on the family of Mattie. They may have been in Vernon or Sabine Parish.

Joseph Scott ILER was born about 1867 in LA. and he died 1943 in Rapides, Parish, LA. Joe's father was Mayberry Alexinder ILER and his mother was Elizabeth JONES. The ILER family also lived in Franklin and Richland Parishes. Joe SCott ILER also had a half-sister named Nora STROUD.

I am looking for any information on Annie Lavaga (MITCHELL) KELLEY LEE (married twice) who died in Louisiana on or about October 19, 1926 in a car accident. An obituary in an Alabama newspaper indicated she died at Alexander (Alexandria?), Louisiana as a result of an autobile accident at Richland. Four other persons were also injured when their car struck a cow and turned over. Her body was shipped back to AL for burial. I am particulairly interested in any information regarding the accident or the circumstances surrounding her death. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!!
