I am looking for info on David DELANEY. I have info on him from Catahoula & Rapides Parishes, but I cannot find his parents. The LA censuses show birthplace as Mississippi. I cannot find him in MS. He was born 1828 and apparently moved to LA in 1850, he married Caroline ADAMS (l ) and then Nancy ADAMS (2). He is my ggrandfather. His daughter, Margaret (Maggie) married Wesley THOMAS and then George "Bud" FERGUSON. I am also looking for Preston & Rebecca FERGUSON, said to be parents of George. I will appreciate any and all information on them. If I can be of help to anyone out there just e-mail me. I'm clutching at straws now.

BORLAND, HAYNES, HOLLY, PEART, SIMPSON posted by Bill Holly, Jr. on Sunday, September 19, 2004

Seeking any information on the following family including the burial place of Henry "Little Buddy" SIMPSON near Cheneyville, Rapides, LA.
William Everett SIMPSON is believed to have been born before 1870 in Texas. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Florentine BORLAND on 25 Jun 1891 in Rapides Parish, LA. Lizzie was born 22 May 1864, and died 28 Oct 1948, to John Ervin BORLAND and Amelia Carolyn HAYNES. Lizzie is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, Rapides, LA.
William Everett SIMPSON died about Oct 1897 in Rapides Parish and was buried "across the river" from Poland, Rapides, LA. It is believed he may have been buried in the old Peart Cemetery on a bluff overlooking the Red River that over time has mostly disappeared into the river.
William and Lizzie had three children (1)Mary Antoinette "Nettie" SIMPSON who married, James Morton PEART; (2)Henry "Little Buddy" SIMPSON, who died at about ten years of age when thrown by a horse near a cotton gin in the Cheneyville area; and (3)Ilda Garnett SIMPSON, who married Floyd Chester HOLLY, Sr.
Henry "Little Buddy" SIMPSON, b Jan 1895, reportedly was, in about 1905, thrown from a horse which was spooked by a cotton gin whistle, and dragged through a fence resulting in his death. He was reportedly buried in the Cheneyville area but I have been unable to locate his burial place.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

David W. DELANEY was born about 1828 and died 1872, probably in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. He married (first) 28 Jun 1846 to Caroline ADAMS, born about 1833 in Georgia and died probably before 1867 in Louisiana. They had seven children, all born in Louisiana. He married (second)24 Dec 1866 in Caldwell Parish to Nancy ADAMS, born Mississippi. They had three children (she had seven children). The 1870 and 1880 Rapides Parish census shows a niece, Georgianna SILLS, is living with her. Wish to share info. David was a brother to my gr-gr- grandfather.
