KEY, KILE, MATHENY, MONTGOMERY, TAYLOR posted by Cindy Tiemann on Monday, August 4, 1997

Looking for any information on James Kenyon TAYLOR and Laura J. TAYLOR (maiden name unknown) who lived in the Spring Hill area of Rapides Parish in 1900 with their daughter Mary Alice TAYLOR according to the 1900 federal census. In 1910, they were living in Hineston, Rapides Parish and their family now included James Ora b. 1904, Wesley and Lesley b. 1906, Benjamin Sewell b. 1908 and Bentley Kenyon b. 1910. By 1920, they had moved to Natchitoches Parish. I would love to find parents names and Laura's maiden name. Any information would be appreciated. Addendum: (Aug 28) I believe James Kenion TAYLOR was the son of William Washington TAYLOR and Amanda L. KEY but have been unable to verify my theory. William b.1/26/1855 and d.8/15/1881 was married to Amanda L. KEY (daughter of J. J. KEY) on 12/28/1877 by Jacob KILE. William was the son of William Kennon TAYLOR b. 9/6/1816 d.9/12/1895 and Melissa MONTGOMERY b. 10/14/1830. They were married 12/11/1851 by P. MATHENY. I found this information in the book "Louisana's Kisatchie Hills" by Bullard and Kadlecek (I would love to have a copy if anyone has one to sell). Any information or help in making the connection would be appreciated.
