I hail from Sarver, Pennsylvania and am so hoping that you might be able to assist me. My GGGGrandfather, Dr. Platt BURR (also known as Plat Theodore and/or Theodore Platt Burr) died in Rapides Parish September 6, 1844. He was a physician and practised in Louisiana for 12 years before he died at the young age of 44. His son, my GGGrandfather, (and several other of his children) was born there. I have property deeds for first Avoyelles Parish in 1832 and then Rapides Parish in 1834 when he must have moved and where he remained until his death. Then his wife (Frances Elizabeth DANFORTH Burr) and children moved to Indiana after settling things in Louisiana. I am trying to find his grave and anything that might be known of his practise there. It is said that he was well known in his area. If you can suggest anyone who might be able to assist me or anything else I would so appreciate it.

Can someone help me find an obit and burial place for Niel Henry LUND (Spouse of Mary Ann Seiler--my cousin) and their son Harald W. S. LUND--who is written up in Bio. and Historical Memoirs of Northwest La. published 1890. I would be interested in H W S LUND descendants also.

William DANZY born Jan 10, 1870 to a Danzy and Nancy VANARIAN DANZY. She was born in Louisiana, father was Jerry, mother was Rebecca, brothers are William, James,Benjamin, and Nicolas. Sisters are Sarah Jane and Elizabeth.They are in the 1850 and 1860 census in Rapides Parish. Elizabeth alone is in the 1870 census in Texas. Looking for information on the Vanarian's and or Nancy. Trying to trace the name of the Danzy she married. The Grandpa Danzy died sometime between 1870 and 1871, because she remarried John Blair on May 1, 1871 in Rapides Parish.Looking for any information according to census was a farmer with land, confirmed by deed from land office. Any information on the Vanarian's and the Pa Danzy's name would be great.

My great grandmother Catherine "Charlsey" HOLLOWAY was born about 1882 in Louisiana. She married James D. LONSBERRY, who was born about 1878 in Louisiana. James' father, Octavia V. LONSBERY, and mother, Theodosia SMITH, are both buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Melder, Rapides Parish, LA. Octavia V. LONSBERY died 8 Mar 1935 in Melder, Rapides Parish, LA. Theodosia SMITH died 23 Dec 1920 in Spring Hill, Rapides Parish, LA. Since Catherine HOLLOWAY married a man who was from Rapides Parish and whose parents were from Rapides Parish, it is likely she also grew up in Rapides Parish. I am seeking any information about who her mother and father are and any siblings she has. All I know about her is that she was born about 1882. Her son, Lee LONSBERRY, was born in Glenmora, Rapides Parish LA Oct 4, 1914.

I am looking for the THOMPSON family from or around LaCour, La. My grandfathers name was Matthew THOMPSON he was married to Celestine TAYLOR, from Chicago, Il. His father name was also Matthew Thompson, married to Mary EVANS. I am trying to find the descendent of my grandfather's sibblings. I was told that my grandfather had a brother name Bailey and some sisters. My grandfather had three living children (1) Helen Thompson, (2) Viola Thompson and (3) Eugene L. Thompson, my father.
