HUTTO posted by Bill Hutto on Wednesday, November 4, 1998

I would like to exchange information with anyone with knowledge of the HUTTO families of this Parish. In the early part of this century, at least two families of my ancestral line moved fro MS to Louisiana. The known names were John (Johnny), his wife Dorcus, their children were Colon, Luther, Jettie V.,  Virgie, Fred, his wife Mary, their children were  Ruth, Lillie, Fred Jr and Dan. There were likely other children born into these families. Any information would be appreciated.

BAILEY, DRINKWATER, WADE posted by Laveda Glover-McWillie on Tuesday, November 24, 1998

Looking for decendants of William A. BAILEY 1860,Ann Wade 1850,Hugh Bailey.  William A. Bailey was listed in the 1860 census as being one of the largest slaveholders in Louisiana. William A. Bailey had slaves in Lafayette,Grant,Winn,Rapides Parishes. He listed his occupation as a farmer he had 121 slaves and owned over 1,000 acres of land in Rapides Parish. I am looking for two slaves that might have been on his list: Elsey or Elzey (WADE) BAILEY, Oliver (DRINKWATER) BAILEY. In 1860 Elsey & Oliver had 6 children. By the 1890's Oliver's children were in Bienville & Claiborne Parishs. Ann Wade was also a slaveholder but she had less than 50 slaves, she also owned land in Pointe Coupee Parish. I am looking for any information on the people that I have listed.
