BYRD, I am looking for any Byrds or Byrd descendants in Rapides Parish, La. My dad, Wallace Oscar Byrd, is the son of John Leonard Byrd, son of George E Byrd, son of Samuel E Byrd, who was killed in the civil war. Before the civil war he was a planation mgr. in Tensas Parish. After the civil war his descendants drifted in and out of Rapides Parish. I know they had lots of relatives there. Any info on any of these would be greatly appreciated.

DUNN, PARLIER, PULLEN posted by Richard R. Pullen on Sunday, March 4, 2001

I am looking for relatives or records on ancestors of a William Austin "Billy" DUNN born in Alexandria, Louisana about 1915-16. His mother was my Great Aunt: Bertha Leora PARLIER, born in Kentucky about 1892-3. Her younger sister was my Grandmother: Florine Mae PARLIER. Bertha and Florine were two of the three children of John William and Martha Lizziebeth PULLEN PARLIER, who lived near Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky for a while in the 1890's. Bertha married a Mr. DUNN in 1914-15 and lived in Alexandria for some time. On Bertha's death (about 1929), her only son "Billy" came to Fort Worth to live in the household of Florine and her husband, Homer PULLEN and their family. "Billy" graduated from Central High School in Fort Worth about 1934-35 and after some time, joined the US Navy. He made it a career and there was some evidence that he retired from the Navy (with a family of at least one son and one daughter) to the Phillipines about 1958-59.
