BILES, MCGARRAHAN, SMITH, THIBODEAUX posted by Robert E. Parrott on Wednesday, May 27, 1998

I'm researching the THIBODEAUX family.  Can someone tell me the location of a place in Rapides Parish (perhaps in the northern section) called "Bayou Boeuf"?  Was it a community, or an area defined by the waterway -- or only the bayou itself?  Early records indicate that it was "near Kisatchie," but it was said to be in Rapides Parish, not Natchitoches/Sabine Parish.  The THIBODEAUX family was there ca 1806- 1809, and probably longer.  I am searching for information on a brother and two sisters, Valmore THIBODEAUX (who married Elvira SMITH after 1840), andn his sisters Marie Louise THIBODEAUX (who married Benjamin BILES, who was one of the earliest Anglo-Saxon settlers in the Neutral Strip, by 1809), and Elizabeth THIBODEAUX (who married John MCGARRAHAN). I am glad to share information.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
