Sarah was born Ala. ca 1832, William was born Ala. ca 1839. In 1872, in their home, Manora Valsico MCKINNEY married N.L. MCGINNIS. After the death of Sarah and Robert, Val and N.L. MCGINNIS took three of the Fox daughters into the McGinnis home. The wedding invitation of one of the girls refers to her as "our niece". N.L. McGinnis later married a cousin of Val's from Opelousas La. Fanny E. McKinney, daughter of Kinchen W. McKinney. I'd like information on any of these McKinneys.

MARTIN, MIERS, WINGATE posted by Lawrence E. (Buddy) Martin on Tuesday, March 23, 1999

MARTIN, MIERS WINGATE A new email conference is being established for research into the William "Billy" Martin family line. William "Billy" was born 1766ca, and died in 1840. He was a Revolutionary Soldier. He came to Louisiana in 1803 with his wife, Elizabeth, who was reportedly Indian. (ca 1790/ca 1849) William and Elizabeth settled in the Sabine Territory and are buried in Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco. The family is largely concentrated in Vernon, Rapides, Natchitoches, and Sabine Parishes. Nothing is known about William "Billy" and Elizabeth prior to their coming to Louisiana. It was thought that William was from Virginia and came to Louisiana by way of Kentucky, but this information has not been validated. They had nine children: John (Jack) 1805; Thomas ; Dave; William Jr. 1815; Benjamin 1818; Charles 1825; Elizabeth 1826; Isaac; Levi 1830. Several of the Martin children married into the David Mier's family. For this reason we would like to extend a special invitation to any of the Mier's descendants to become part of the conference. Of course the conference is open to anyone interested. To participate in the conference send an email to Join-Martin- Family@xc.org. This is the only thing required. Feel free to give this information to others you think may be interested. If you wish you can send me email addresses of those you feel would be interested and I'll send them an invitation. I serve as administer of the conference. Nathan Martin is the technical support.
